Global Mobility Specialist
Your Responsibilities
- Summary of Position:
- o The Global Mobility Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing the expatriate management process, ensuring compliance with personal taxation and immigration regulations, and providing exceptional support to expatriates. This role is crucial in facilitating smooth transitions for international employees and enhancing their overall relocation experience
- Expatriate Management:
o Manage the end-to-end expatriate assignment process, including pre-assignment planning, relocation, and repatriation.
o Develop and implement expatriate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
o Responsible for expatriate matters in Malaysia in coordination with the headquarters.
o Oversee the complete expat process from planning, pass application, and timely renewal of work permits.
o Liaise with government authorities (e.g., Immigration). Responsibility for complete expat process from planning, pass application and timely renewal of work permit
o provide excellent employee experience on relocation (flight booking, immigration, transfer, housing and related expat topics)
o Update internal parties on any issues/changes to Immigration requirements, regulations or visa process - Personal Taxation:
o Advise expatriates on personal tax matters, including tax equalization, tax planning, and compliance.
o Coordinate with external tax advisors to prepare and review tax returns for expatriates.
o Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that impact expatriates and ensure compliance.
o Provide ongoing support in payroll and taxation and other related matters in expat management. Strong intercultural skills, high sense of duty and excellent time management - Compliance and Reporting:
o Ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations, including visa and work permit applications.
o Maintain accurate records of expatriate assignments and related documentation.
o Prepare and submit required reports to internal and external stakeholders.
o Update internal parties on any issues/changes to immigration requirements, regulations, or visa processes. - Provide HR cross-functional support as needed and Perform tasks assigned by superiors from time to time
Your Profile

Bachelor University degree/ MA from an accredited university (preferably in Human Resources, Management or Business Administration)

3+ years of working experience in expat management and global mobility, preferably in a manufacturing company

Good knowledge of the local labor law and taxation topics

Good communication skills in English with ability to work with colleagues across cultures and regions

Excellent knowledge in immigration matters and local taxations

Strong intercultural skills, high sense of duty and excellent time management

Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail

Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a dynamic work environment.

Good knowledge of IT tools (social media tools, web-platforms, blogs, MS Office)
