Automation & Integration Systems Engineer

 

In your role, you will act as a Specialist OT BUILD AES, ensuring the efficient operation, continuous improvement, and strategic development of IT systems within the OT (Operational Technology) domain. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of hardware and software solutions while supporting business objectives through innovative technologies. By collaborating closely with stakeholders, you will drive domain-level strategies, enhance system performance, and ensure seamless integration and value creation across manufacturing environments.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

  • Engage with key users to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable IT/OT solutions
  • Define, document, and maintain domain-specific processes, policies, and standards
  • Support and lead IT projects and domain initiatives from planning through successful execution
  • Customize and optimize existing OT systems to meet operational needs and improve efficiency
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training to key users and stakeholders
  • Analyze complex technical issues and deliver effective, sustainable solutions
  • Generate reports and insights to support informed decision-making
  • Drive continuous improvement by evaluating and implementing new technologies and best practices

 

Your Profile

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Automation, Industrial Engineering, or comparable qualification with at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong expertise in OT systems, IoT, factory automation, and L2–L3 system integration
  • Experience with MES systems, ideally Critical Manufacturing (Connect IoT certification is a plus)
  • Knowledge of automation protocols such as SECS/GEM, OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, and TCP/IP
  • Solid knowledge in TypeScript, C#, and good knowledge of T-SQL and database concepts
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and software lifecycle management
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Team-oriented mindset with intercultural competence and a proactive, solution-driven approach
