Engineer R&D - Prototyping Engineering

In your role, you will lead R&D process development for advanced substrate and packaging technologies and drive the successful implementation of innovative manufacturing concepts from development to qualification.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the development and qualification of advanced plating and wet chemistry processes for substrate and packaging applications.
• Drive innovative technology developments including fine line structuring, small via formation, die integration, and novel manufacturing concepts.
• Evaluate, specify, install, and qualify new process equipment and technologies.
• Optimize process performance through DOE, data analysis, and process parameter development.
• Collaborate with global R&D teams, manufacturing sites, suppliers, and external partners to realize new process concepts.
• Drive supplier evaluation, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build and expand manufacturing know-how in substrate and advanced packaging technologies.
• Support technology transfer to TDI/NPI while meeting quality, budget, and timeline objectives.

Your Profile

• Degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field; alternatively, equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience as an Engineer or Process Engineer in a specialized process area, preferably within the substrate, IC packaging, assembly, or related industries.
• Strong experience in process development, process qualification, and equipment qualification.
• Sound knowledge of statistical data analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Familiarity with quality and process engineering tools such as SPC, MSA, FMEA, and Control Plans.
• Strong analytical mindset, structured working approach, and attention to detail.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; German language skills are an advantage.
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment, travel internationally, and collaborate within intercultural teams.
