Engineer R&D - Resource Efficiency

In your role as R&D Engineer, you will contribute to the development of innovative technologies and solutions that support AT&S’s next-generation products and manufacturing processes. You will independently plan and execute experiments, evaluate technical results, and transform findings into actionable recommendations. Working closely with R&D colleagues and cross-functional teams, you will help drive technology development from concept to production while contributing to AT&S’s innovation and resource-efficiency goals.

 

 

Your Responsibilities

 

 

  • Contribute to R&D projects advancing resource efficiency, sustainability, and circular economy objectives
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate experiments independently to support product and process improvements
  • Design, develop, and validate new technologies in line with defined technical and performance requirements
  • Analyze experimental data and derive recommendations for technology optimization and implementation
  • Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and production teams to ensure the successful transfer of new technologies into manufacturing
  • Research emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices relevant to AT&S products and processes
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project results and recommendations
  • Support project planning activities by identifying technical risks, challenges, and improvement opportunities
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives that enhance product performance, manufacturing efficiency, and sustainability

 

 

Your Profile

 

 

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Environmental Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Proficiency in PCB design, semiconductor technologies, or similar technical fields
  • Experience in research, technology development, process engineering, or a comparable R&D environment is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and data-driven working approach
  • Experience in planning, conducting, and evaluating experiments and technical investigations
  • Ability to interpret technical data and translate findings into practical recommendations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
  • Fluent English skills; German is considered an advantage
