IT Infrastructure – Backup & Storage Specialist

Safeguard business-critical data with reliable backup and storage solutions. As a Backup & Storage Specialist, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the company’s enterprise storage and data protection landscape. You will design, operate, and optimize backup and restore processes, disaster recovery readiness, and storage platforms (on-prem and cloud). Collaborating closely with Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams, you will safeguard business-critical data and meet recovery objectives, compliance requirements, and audit standards

Your Responsibilities

• Data Protection & Storage Management
• Design, operate, and monitor backup and recovery solutions for designated compliance systems
• Ensure data availability, integrity, and recoverability according to compliance requirements
• Manage enterprise storage platforms (SAN, NAS, object storage)
• Execute and document backup tests, disaster recovery tests, and restore procedures
• Enforce data retention, encryption, and access control policies
• Support audits and compliance checks related to data protection
• Collaborate with Production IT, Security, and Infrastructure teams

Your Profile

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, or comparable experience
• Proven experience in a similar position
• Proven experience with enterprise backup and storage technologies
• Solid understanding of data protection in regulated environments
• Experience with encryption, retention policies, and disaster recovery concepts
• Reliable, precise, and documentation-oriented working style
• Fluent in English; German is a plus
