Process Engineer
In your role as a Process Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, optimizing, and sustaining advanced IC substrate manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for ensuring stable, high-yield, and cost-efficient production while supporting new product introductions and technology developments. Working closely with cross-functional and international teams, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, drive innovation, and help maintain AT&S' position as a technology leader in the semiconductor industry.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop, characterize, and optimize IC substrate manufacturing processes within your area of expertise.
- Define process requirements, evaluate suppliers, and qualify manufacturing equipment and tooling.
- Monitor process performance using statistical process control (SPC) and drive process stability improvements.
- Investigate and resolve process-related issues to ensure high yield, quality, and throughput.
- Design and execute experiments (DoE) to improve process capability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Support new product introductions and the successful ramp-up into high-volume manufacturing.
- Create and maintain process documentation while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams, mentor junior colleagues, and support internal and external audits.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Engineer or Process Engineer, preferably within IC substrate, semiconductor packaging, electronics manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Hands-on experience with process improvement methodologies and Six Sigma tools such as SPC, MSA, DOE, FMEA, 8D, and 5 Why.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and problem-solving.
- Knowledge of project management principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient in engineering and data analysis tools such as MS Office, JMP, Minitab, SAP, APC, or comparable software.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German language skills are considered an advantage.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, willingness to work in a cleanroom environment, travel internationally, and collaborate within intercultural teams.
