Production Process Engineer

 

In this role, you will be the key driver in developing, optimizing, and stabilizing our production processes - actively contributing to quality and efficiency in our high-tech manufacturing environment. You will take responsibility for monitoring, improving, and qualifying processes in IC-substrate manufacturing. You will drive innovation, ensure top-quality standards, and enable efficient, stable production.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

Process Development & Monitoring

  • Develop, optimize, and characterize manufacturing processes in your area of expertise (e.g., lithography, mechanical, plating, backend).
  • Specify and qualify new equipment and tooling, including supplier evaluation.
  • Ensure process stability through statistical process control (SPC).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues in daily operations.
  • Support new product introduction and technology ramp-up.

Yield Optimization & Cost Control

  • Conduct FMEA and DOE to improve process performance, yield, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement lean methods for stable, high-yield, and cost-effective processes.
  • Lead task forces and continuous improvement initiatives.

Documentation, Training & Collaboration

  • Create and maintain process documentation according to AT&S standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, testing, NPI) for successful product development.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, quality, and sustainability guidelines.

 

Your Profile

  • Technical degree (Bachelor or Master) in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or similar.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in process engineering, ideally in IC substrate, packaging, or electronics manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of project management, data analytics, and statistical methods (SPC, DOE, FMEA, Six Sigma).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, Minitab, or JMP.
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus), strong intercultural teamwork skills, and willingness to travel.
  • Analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and resilience.
