Specialist R&D Portfolio & Funding Management
In your role, you will drive transparency, governance, and strategic alignment across the global R&D portfolio while supporting the effective use of public funding opportunities. The role enables data-driven decision-making by providing portfolio insights, prioritization recommendations, performance indicators, and funding expertise to the R&D Management Team. By ensuring alignment between technology roadmaps, R&D investments, resource allocation, and strategic objectives, the position contributes to the effective execution of the company's innovation and technology strategy. In addition, the role supports the acquisition and management of research subsidies, helping to maximize investment efficiency and accelerate technology development activities.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the global R&D portfolio management framework to ensure transparency, governance, and strategic alignment across all R&D activities by establishing portfolio standards, review processes, KPIs, and reporting structures
- Provide portfolio analyses, recommendations, and decision proposals for the R&D portfolio to support prioritization, investment, and resource allocation decisions by consolidating project information, evaluating portfolio performance, and preparing management-ready reports
- Coordinate and facilitate portfolio review and governance processes to improve portfolio execution effectiveness and ensure alignment with strategic objectives by working closely with the R&D Management Team, Project Managers, and technology experts
- Establish and maintain portfolio transparency across projects, programs, resources, budgets, risks, and technology development activities to enable data-driven decision-making
- Identify portfolio optimization opportunities to improve resource utilization, reduce overlaps, and strengthen execution of strategic priorities
- Support the development and execution of the R&D funding strategy to maximize research subsidies opportunities and strengthen innovation investments
- Coordinate funding proposal and project activities to ensure successful application, execution, and compliance of funded initiatives
- Support the digitalization of project and portfolio management practices by implementing and enhancing reporting, analytics, and workflow solutions using platforms such as ServiceNow, Power BI, SAP, and related systems
Your Profile
- Master's degree in Engineering, Technology Management, Innovation Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Several years of professional experience in R&D, portfolio management, project management, innovation management, public funding, or related fields
- Technical understanding of semiconductor packaging, IC substrate technologies, PCB technologies, advanced manufacturing technologies, or related fields
- Knowledge of public funding programs and funding management is an advantage
- Proficiency in Power BI, ServiceNow, SAP, or comparable digital tools
- Ability to understand and evaluate technical projects, technology roadmaps, and portfolio performance indicators, strong analytical thinking
- Experience working in cross-functional and international environments (incl. stakeholder management)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English and German
