Technical Project Manager R&D

 

 

In your role, you will be responsible for planning, steering, and implementing technology‑driven R&D projects, driving execution that enables AT&S to expand its technological leadership in the area of optical-integrated PCBs or IC substrates. You will focus on coordinating complex R&D initiatives involving numerous internal and external partners and ensuring technical and project excellence from concept to implementation. Your technical and project management expertise strengthens AT&S’s capability to industrialize innovative technologies and broaden the plant’s service portfolio.

 

 

 

Your Responsibilities

 

  • Plan, manage, and track complex R&D projects with a strong technical focus
  • Translate system requirements into clear, concrete technical specifications (e.g. PCB specifications), including manufacturing and material constraints
  • Coordinate and manage a wide range of stakeholders (internal teams, external suppliers, and research partners) as a technically competent counterpart
  • Challenge technical assumptions and proposals to ensure optimal solutions
  • Ensure accountability, transparency, and traceability of technical decisions and their impact on project outcomes
  • Support the technical advancement of processes, methods, and technologies within the organization
  • Prepare presentations, decision papers, and information materials for management and stakeholders; create and maintain structured, high‑quality, value‑adding project documentation
  • Represent your technical field toward internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external project partners to ensure clarity, alignment, and professional communication
  • Contribute to system-level understanding by applying your technical experience, as a plus in the area optical-electronical systems

 

 

Your Profile

 

  • Completed education in physics, chemistry, mechatronics, electronics, telecommunication engineering, medical engineering, or a comparable technical field  - or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven industry experience as a technical project manager, ideally in hightech, semiconductor or manufacturing environments
  • Advanced project management skills with a structured and resultsoriented working style
  • Proactive, pragmatic problemsolving approach combined with curiosity for new technologies
  • Fluent English skills (spoken and written); German is an advantage
  • Openminded communicator with strong crossfunctional collaboration abilities and a “crossborder thinker” mindset
  • Knowledge in highfrequency applications and/or optical systems is a plus
